Chancellor of Andalas University Prof. Dr. Yuliandri stated "One of the things that became the setting, the establishment as an academic organ within Andalas University is called the Department". Based on the results of the discussion and derived through Chancellor Regulation Number 8 of 2022, he said, departmental organs are the main pillars of academic development within Andalas University.

Furthermore, he conveyed that in the stipulation of Government Regulation (PP) Number 95 of 2021 and the Chancellor's Regulation, apart from being inaugurated as chairman and secretary of the department today, a change in nomenclature was also launched.

"All this time within the faculty there are departments and sections but today it was agreed upon as departments," said Chancellor Yuliandri.

The names of the departments of each faculty were launched, he said, in the same way when Andalas University changed its status to a Legal Entity State University (PTNBH) which was marked with its anniversary on September 13 last year.

The Chancellor revealed that this activity was deliberately carried out as an effort to pick up various things that may not have been fully covered so far in supporting the academic process.
