Agribusiness Study Program Students Win Creative Ads Contest and Receive the 2022 Best Agribusiness MSME Award

PADANG - Another extraordinary achievement was achieved by students of the Department of Agricultural Socio-Economy which was announced at the HIPMI AWARD Wednesday, October 5 2022. Through the Creative Ads video competition held by UKM HIPMI (Indonesian Young Entrepreneurs Association) UNAND Higher Education, the "Integrated Three" team consisting of Hamdan Oktoriq, Fariz Al Zacky, and Ade Yulianti Siregar won the Best Winner for the Creative Ads competition category.

The Creative Ads video competition itself is a competition where participants are asked to make a creative advertising video about a local MSME brand within a predetermined time duration. Through a video entitled "Sam's Coffee", the Integrated Three Team packs it authentically.

Sam's Coffee itself is a business engaged in the processing of coffee beans. The owner of Sam's Coffee is a Farming Community leader, whose business location is in Nagari Surian, Pantai Cermin District, Solok Regency. For the marketing area of Sam's Coffee itself covers West Sumatra and has even exported to the United States. Integrated Three's reason for making Sam's Coffee as an UMKM that will produce creative advertising videos is because Sam's Coffee's promotion is still passive. This is proven through social media that has not been updated, so it is hoped that this Creative Ads can help Sam's Coffee in promoting their products.

Another unique thing is that the making of this video was originally just an assignment for an Agribusiness Communication course. When a task is carried out in earnest it can produce achievements as achieved by the Integrated Three. Here's the link to access the video https://youtu.be/WJTYQNHKJYM.

Not only winning the Creative Ads competition category, Rahmah Marleni Agribusiness Study Program student also received the Best Agribusiness MSME award in 2022. Rahmah, a student from the English Language Class (KBI), does not only focus on academic achievement, but is also a student who is active in the business sector. Currently, with his business "Sukma Jaya Farming", which is a business engaged in the field of plant nurseries, especially annual fruit horticultural crops, he managed to get an award from the best Agribusiness MSME category. This award was announced at the HIPMI AWARD event which was the last series of events from the Entrepreneur Fair (ENFAIR) V event held by HIPMI PT UNAND.

Academic achievement is something that must be improved, but from the other side it requires soft skills that need to be matured. Today the millennial generation has big challenges. Life is getting harder. For this reason, it's time for the millennial generation to be literate with opportunities. He said he was a student of Agricultural Social Economics, so before "improving the economic system the farmers" had a big homework to organize their own economy first. Anything can be used as cash, but in a positive way. If the academics are good and supported by good soft skills, you will be successful, believe me, said Rahmah.

The Agribusiness Study Program really appreciates students who excel at the university level. It is hoped that these achievements will not stop here, but can compete at the national and international levels.(RM)
